The Astley Christian Fellowship Church on Manchester Road has extensive grounds and ample parking for a large funeral service. Along the same road, St Stephen's Church is an Anglican Church set in a pretty garden, and it has a large conference room. Saint Ambrose Barlow Roman Catholic Church is also on Manchester Road, and the Astley and Tyldesley Methodist Church is on Lower Elliot Street.
Our funeral directors can arrange for the burial to take place at Tyldesley Cemetery. It is a leafy cemetery, and many local community members enjoy stopping by for a visit on weekends. Funeral services occur at the chapel. Burial plots and family burial plots are available, and ashes plots are interred in the Garden of Remembrance.
Howe Bridge Crematorium is the closest crematorium to Astley, about 4 miles away via the A577. The crematorium has several acres of beautifully maintained gardens that offer a peaceful, rural reprieve. Cremation services take place within the spacious chapel made from natural brick and honey-coloured timber. Ashes are interred in the Garden of Remembrance. Memorial trees and family gardens can be purchased as living memorials. You can buy inscriptions for benches, plaques, and sundials, or families can purchase headstones, vaults, or cremation tablets.
A cremation service is similar to a funeral service. Either of these can be religious or non-religious funeral services. A cremation service can take place at a crematorium chapel, during which time the coffin is concealed. A funeral service does not imply that a burial follows. A private or unattended cremation can follow funeral service in a church or chapel.
We can assist with arranging the repatriation of the remains of your family member or friend to England. Please talk to our funeral directors if you need advice or more information.
Fenix Funeral Services give you one bill that includes the funeral director fees, third party costs and the cost of any other services you may have requested, including florists, catering, the minister or celebrant and other funeral arrangements. Contact us at any time to request a full breakdown of the costs.
Direct cremation is usually the most affordable option. Direct cremation usually takes place unattended. Some people choose a small memorial at home to save on expenses and make the funeral more personal. Direct cremation avoids having a hearse, coffin and pallbearers at the funeral service.
