Peel Green Crematorium
Peel Green Cemetery, established in 1879, spreads across 32 acres of serene landscape, hosting over 44,800 interments. The cemetery's rich history includes a transformation from a Non-Conformist burial chapel to a crematorium in 1955, where it has conducted more than 59,500 cremations.
Peel Green Cemetery has earned Green Flag status and undergone recent enhancements, transforming it into a premier facility for the local community. School groups are welcome, with educational resources provided to explore the cemetery's war memorials, making it a valuable historical and communal asset.
The crematorium's chapel accommodates up to 100 mourners and features a loop system for those with hearing difficulties. Outside speakers enable participation in large funerals when the chapel reaches capacity. Additionally, Salford City Council bereavement services offer live webcasting and recording for a fee, ensuring that everyone can be part of the farewell.
Please remember: you need to book an appointment at the Peel Green Crematorium in order to discuss your plans. We’d be happy to help you do this, so feel free to get in touch with one of our personal advisers.
