Penmount Crematorium
Based within the serene countryside near Truro, Penmount Crematorium spans 11 acres of meticulously landscaped grounds known as the Gardens of Remembrance. The memorial complex comprises two chapels, Trelawney and Kernow, offering seating for 112 and 55 mourners, respectively, both equipped with hearing loops and large print hymn books. The Trelawney Chapel accommodates non-religious services, featuring live or digitally selected music and customisable multimedia presentations.
Adjacent to the Kernow Chapel, the Memorial Hall houses the Books of Remembrance, accessible in person or digitally, offering a tranquil setting with additional seating, background music, and enhanced lighting. The Columbarium, within the Flower Room, provides a peaceful space for reflection.
Penmount's extensive grounds showcase a Garden of Remembrance, including formal gardens, an arboretum, natural woodlands, and a dedicated Baby Garden. Memorial options range from plaques and vaults to benches and vases. Cremated remains may find a final resting place in the well-maintained Formal Gardens, the Arboretum, or the natural tranquillity of the Quiet Acres.
The Baby Garden, established in 1995, offers a dedicated space for very young children and babies, adorned with animal pottery figures and spring blooms. The crematorium's commitment to personalised remembrance extends to a Book of Remembrance, where loved ones' names and epitaphs are expertly inscribed and viewable online.
Open daily, including Sundays and bank holidays, the Gardens and Memorial Hall provide solace for those seeking quiet contemplation. The Crematorium staff, available Monday to Friday, assists visitors and ensures a serene and comforting atmosphere, transforming the Gardens into spaces of enduring peace and life.

Penmount Crematorium is conveniently located on the A39 Truro to Newquay road, just two miles north of the city of Truro. Easily accessible by car, follow the A39, and you'll find Penmount on your route. The crematorium provides ample on-site parking for visitors.
By Bus:
For those using public transportation, a bus service from Truro to Newquay passes by the entrance of Penmount Crematorium. Visitors taking this bus should disembark at Penmount Lodge, which is in proximity to the crematorium.
Important Note for Pedestrians:
It is not recommended to access Penmount Crematorium on foot from Truro. Unfortunately, there are no pedestrian facilities available on this section of the A39. For safety reasons, visitors are advised to use alternative modes of transportation, such as car or bus, when travelling to Penmount Crematorium.
