Lea Fields Crematorium
Lea Fields Crematorium, inaugurated in January 2020, stands as a compassionate response to local needs. The facility, designed with careful consideration of the site's topography, features an elegant chapel with seating for 120 individuals, accompanied by standing room. The main axis ascends eight metres, culminating at the Chapel of Remembrance, strategically placed at the highest point on the site.
Nestled on a hillside, Lea Fields Crematorium boasts captivating views of the woodland and distant Nottinghamshire landscapes. The gardens of remembrance, adorned with young trees and wildflower meadows, offer serene spaces for reflection with panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape and river valley.
The architectural design harmonises with the rural character of the area, utilising materials that complement the natural boundaries. The chapel welcomes all forms of religious and secular services, with service durations contingent on the type and time of the booked funeral service.
Lea Fields Crematorium provides hourly 45-minute services at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, and 15:30. Early start services at 09:00 or 09:45 offer a maximum service time of 35 minutes, followed by a 10-minute interval for chapel turnover. A brief 10-minute Farewell Service is available on weekdays at 09:00 for up to six mourners without an officiant.
