Birtley Crematorium

Birtley Crematorium

Set within the grounds of Birtley Cemetery, Birtley Crematorium offers a tranquil setting for funeral services. The chapel, designed with good wheelchair access and a hearing loop system, welcomes services for all denominations. The option to cover the chapel's cross is available upon request, ensuring inclusivity.

Service times, not publicised due to potential changes, can be obtained by contacting Bereavement Services. The Book of Remembrance, both in physical and digital formats, serves as an everlasting memorial. The landscaped Garden of Remembrance provides a private space for reflection, adorned with commemorative plaques along borders. Floral tributes grace the crematorium for three nights, subsequently recycled unless otherwise instructed.

Limited parking within the crematorium grounds may direct overflow to Windsor Road. Toilets, conveniently located in the Book of Remembrance room, enhance visitor comfort. Birtley Crematorium stands as a respectful space, offering solace and privacy during moments of remembrance.

Please remember: you need to book an appointment at the Birtley Crematorium in order to discuss your plans. We’d be happy to help you do this, so feel free to get in touch with one of our personal advisers.
