Established in 1963 amidst 14 acres of picturesque Lancashire countryside, Lancaster and Morecambe Crematorium provides a tranquil haven for families in Lancaster and the surrounding counties. The dedicated and caring staff are committed to treating every family with dignity and respect.
A spacious chapel, overlooking landscaped gardens, can accommodate larger funerals, offering a service time of 45 minutes, longer than many other crematoria. Ensuring inclusivity, they provide access for the disabled, disabled toilets, a hearing loop system, and Braille service books for the visually impaired.
The beautifully landscaped Gardens of Remembrance blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Families have the choice of personalised memorials, including roses and private gardens. The memorial staff, available by appointment, can guide you through the gardens to help you make a fitting choice. The gardens are open 365 days a year. The Book of Remembrance Room is accessible during office hours, and the grounds are open to the public.
With 62 parking spaces (including 2 disabled spaces), they aim to provide convenient access for all visitors.

- Take the A6 south out of the city centre.
- Stay on the A6 for about 4.5 km, passing through Skerton village.
- Look for the crematorium on your right, just before the B5269 junction.
From Morecambe:
- Head east on the A589.
- After 2 km, turn right onto the A683 towards Lancaster.
- Follow the A683 for 2.5 km and then turn right onto the A6 towards Carnforth.
- The crematorium will be on your right after 1.5 km, before the B5269 junction.
From Carnforth:
- Take the A683 west from the town centre.
- After 3 km, turn left onto the A6 towards Lancaster.
- The crematorium will be on your right after 2.8 km, before the B5269 junction.
From Heysham:
- Head south on the A589.
- After 8 km, turn right onto the A683 towards Lancaster.
- Follow the A683 for 2.5 km and then turn right onto the A6 towards Carnforth.
- The crematorium will be on your right after 1.5 km, before the B5269 junction.
