Carleton Crematorium
Carleton Cemetery and Crematorium, located near Carleton village just outside Poulton-le-Fylde, is a serene burial ground situated within the beautiful surroundings of Blackpool. Established in 1935, it encompasses more than 22,000 graves, offering a final resting place for many.
Visitors are welcome to explore the tranquil grounds of Carleton Cemetery, taking in the peaceful ambience as they walk through its pathways. To ensure convenience, water taps are available throughout the cemetery. During the winter months, the taps are switched off to prevent freezing and pipe damage.
The crematorium has a non-denominational chapel that can seat up to 100 people, as well as a waiting room and a garden of remembrance. It was designed by the architect J.C. Robinson, who based his design on his own interpretation of the Mausoleum of Mausolus, creating a striking effect.
