Southampton Crematorium

Southampton Crematorium

Located within a serene woodland enclave in the northern part of Southampton, the Southampton Crematorium offers a comprehensive and accessible service for farewell ceremonies. Situated conveniently close to a junction of the M27, it ensures easy accessibility by car or via Swaythling railway station.

Constructed in the 1970s and under the ownership of the local authority, this modern crematorium features two chapels. One accommodates up to 45 individuals, ideal for more intimate gatherings, while the larger chapel caters to services of up to 126 people. Both chapels boast a Wesley music system, providing a diverse array of pre-recorded music or the option of an organ for those with a private organist. Accessibility is prioritised, and the crematorium is equipped with induction loops and wheelchair-friendly facilities.

The Southampton Crematorium is adorned with remarkable Gardens of Remembrance, spanning 15 acres of woodlands, serene streams, ponds, statuary, and even hosting wild deer. Various memorial choices are available, including a dedicated Book of Remembrance building, urn plaques, and keepsake jewellery.

Please remember: you need to book an appointment at the Southampton Crematorium in order to discuss your plans. We’d be happy to help you do this, so feel free to get in touch with one of our personal advisers.
