Putney Vale, Wandsworth

Putney Vale, Wandsworth

The Putney Vale Crematorium is set on the grounds of Putney Vale cemetery, a site that covers 47 acres. It was established in 1938. There are two chapels, including the Church of England-styled West Chapel, which seats 80 and features high beamed ceilings and ornate woodwork. The East Chapel seats 80 and features tribute screens. The two chapels can be combined for larger services for an additional fee.

Both chapels welcome religious and non-religious memorial ceremonies and services. Families may arrange for their own religious leader, minister or celebrant to oversee the service. After the ceremony, families may choose to either bury or scatter the ashes. Burial and scattering must be arranged and supervised by crematorium staff.

The Garden of Remembrance offer a tree-filled space for families to scatter the remains of their loved ones. Memorials can be purchased on a renewable lease and at the rear of the crematorium is a recordia room where memorial plaques and the Book of Remembrance is kept.

The Garden of Remembrance contains mature trees, lawns, well-tended flower beds and other features designed to attract birds and other wildlife to the grounds. It is a peaceful space for families and friends to visit throughout the year to reflect on the lives of those they have lost.

Please remember: you need to book an appointment at the Putney Vale in order to discuss your plans. We’d be happy to help you do this, so feel free to get in touch with one of our personal advisers.
