East London Crematorium, Newham

The East London Cemetery and Crematorium is located in Plaistow and covers 33 acres of land. The 19th century cremation and burial chapels can seat up to 70 people, with standing room for another 30. 

The chapels are equipped with the Obitus music system and offers the opportunity for a visual tribute via a large screen in each chapel, as well as a webcast service. They are accessible to the disabled, with wheelchair ramps, disabled toilets and an induction loop. 

The Crematorium features beautiful rose gardens, private and ribbon gardens, and above-ground ash plots that can be purchased in memory of loved ones. The grounds remain open at all times, and can be visited throughout the entire year. 

The crematorium grounds are open throughout the year, via pedestrian gates. Vehicle access may be restricted after certain hours; please enquire with the office to confirm.

The crematorium grounds are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The office is open from 9am to 4.30pm on Mondays to Fridays.

Directions

From Barking Road, head west towards Green Street. Turn right onto Greengate Street and turn left on Upper Road. Turn right onto Grange Road and the crematorium. 

From the A112, head north and follow the A1020, Silvertown Way and Manor Road to Gainsborough Road. Follow Gainsborough Road to Grange Road and the crematorium. Vehicle access may be restricted on bank holidays and weekends; please enquire with the office to confirm. 

The Crematorium is easily accessible via public transport, including nearby Manor Park Rail station. The nearest underground is Wanstead Park.
