Lambeth Crematorium, Tooting
The Lambeth Crematorium opened in 1958, within Lambeth Cemetery. The Garden of Remembrance is set in 10 acres of well-kept lawns, with semi-formal gardens planted with roses, lavender and heather creating a peaceful ambience.
It is conveniently located near public transport including the 155, 264, 280 and 493 buses. The nearest tube station is Tooting Broadway and the nearest rail station is Haydons Road.
The chapel accommodates all faiths as well as non-religious celebrations of life. Services are 30 minutes long, and held at 45 minute intervals. The chapel can accommodate around 70 seated mourners, and there is additional standing room available. DVD/USB keepsakes of the service can be arranged for an additional fee.
The garden radiates with color all year round. Families can arrange to plant memorial rose bushes in the garden to commemorate a loved one. Remains may be scattered on the lawns, by prior arrangement. Alternatively, families may collect the ashes to scatter elsewhere.
