South London Crematorium, Surrey

South London Crematorium, Surrey

South London Crematorium was opened in 1936, on the site of Streatham Park Cemetery. The crematorium can host large funerals with services running at 45-minute intervals. The crematorium has been recently refurbished. The roadways have been resurfaced, new security fencing was added, and the chapel and waiting rooms were redecorated.

The crematorium chapel is open to all religious and denominations, and it is possible to hold a non-religious celebration of life as well. Families may choose between burial or scattering of the ashes, by prior arrangement and under the supervision of the crematorium staff.

The Garden of Remembrance is well-kept, with shrubs, flowers and mature trees. Families may visit the grounds throughout the year to remember their loved ones or visit the site of their scattering or burial. Vehicle access may be restricted at certain times.

Visitors can still view the original Anglican chapel built in the 1930s, which is currently the crematorium office. There are ample gardens of remembrance, including rose gardens, and the original founder (Frederick Field) is buried there.

Please remember: you need to book an appointment at the South London Crematorium in order to discuss your plans. We’d be happy to help you do this, so feel free to get in touch with one of our personal advisers.
