Croydon Crematorium, Surrey
The Croydon Crematorium is located within Mitcham Road Cemetery in Croydon, a late-Victorian cemetery that dates back to 1897. The West Chapel seats 80 people and is more traditional in its appearance. The East Chapel is more contemporary, and seats 130 mourners in padded seats that can be arranged according to your needs.
Cremation services take place on Mondays to Fridays, from 9am to 4pm at 45 minute intervals, and on Saturdays from 9.30am to 11.45am. Memorials can be placed in the Hall or Gardens of Remembrance in the form of plaques, inscripted paving, floral tributes, and leather panels.
The beautiful memorial gardens feature mature trees, including Deodar Cedar, Acacia, Corsican Pine, Holly and Yew, along with shrubs and flowers, that offers a peaceful respite.
There is a large car park, accessible from both the Thornton Road and Mitcham Road side. Ashes can be buried or scattered by prior arrangement, under the supervision of the crematorium staff. It is also possible to take the ashes home in a receptacle of their choosing.
