St. Marylebone Crematorium, Barnet
The St. Marylebone Crematorium was opened in 1937 and is housed within East Finchley Cemetery. Inside there are two magnificent columbaria. The Internal Columbarium contains sealed and open niches and pot plants and flowers may be brought inside. The External Columbarium features unique individual niches made from granite, surrounded by trees and shrubs.
The Gardens of Remembrance feature a succession of colour year round, from spring bulbs and azaleas, to roses and autumnal maples. Memorial shrubs are available for dedication and it is possible to bury ashes at the foot of a particular shrub. The Willow Garden features a water cascade and mature trees that attract wildlife to the garden, while the special Parterre Garden consists of family memorial plots, divided by small privet hedges.
There is a chapel where services can be held that seats up to 140 mourners. Services may be religious or non-religious in nature, and all faiths and denominations are welcome. There is ample parking for 90 cars, with overflow facilities available as well as four electric vehicle charges.
Families may choose to either bury or scatter the ashes, but internment must arranged and supervised by the crematorium staff. Unattended cremation may also be arranged.
Please remember: you need to book an appointment at the St. Marylebone Crematorium in order to discuss your plans. We’d be happy to help you do this, so feel free to get in touch with one of our personal advisers.
