East Suffolk Crematorium Ltd

Seven Hills Crematorium takes its name from the surrounding area, which contains a collection of ancient tumuli dating back to the Bronze Age. Although the actual number of hills is uncertain, the name "Seven Hills" has historical significance. One of the tumuli is located within Porters Covert, an undeveloped section of the crematorium grounds, ensuring the preservation of the archaeological site. These tumuli, known as bowl barrows, were traditionally used for burials or the interment of cremated remains.

The crematorium itself offers a comprehensive range of facilities, including toilets, disabled toilets, a baby changing unit, a hearing loop, and ample parking with over 200 spaces. The chapel also provides an overflow area in the waiting room, where the service can be viewed and heard on a screen.

Seven Hills Crematorium offers funeral services that are scheduled at 45-minute intervals throughout the day, from 8:15 am to 4:30 pm. Each service is allocated a maximum of 30 minutes in the chapel, but additional chapel time can be arranged for larger gatherings. The fees for the services cover various aspects, such as the use of the chapel, music provided by Obitus, the medical referee's fee, the government environmental surcharge, and a certificate of cremation or interment of cremated remains on the grounds. For an additional cost, an organist can also be arranged.
