Walton Lea Crematorium

Walton Lea Crematorium

Walton Lea Crematorium, inaugurated on April 15, 1964, is nestled within the historic confines of Lord Daresbury's former estate, offering a serene and tranquil resting place for loved ones.

Within these grounds, nature thrives. Ducks and moorhens grace the ornamental pond, woodpeckers can be heard in the meadows, and buzzards gracefully soar overhead. The grassy path surrounding the summer meadow leads to "Rabbit Hill," known for its vibrant wildlife. In the memorial garden, benches offer quiet contemplation spots, allowing visitors to appreciate the colorful array of insects and birds, including dragonflies and wrens.

The crematorium grounds proudly display a Green Flag award, recognizing their exceptional beauty and environmental stewardship.

The facility offers toilet access during staffed hours and provides guidelines for flower and tribute placement, encouraging respect for the serene environment. The crematorium's opening hours vary seasonally, with longer hours during summer (April to September) and slightly reduced hours in winter (October to March).

While remembering your loved ones, you can place flowers in the Garden of Remembrance and scattering areas, adhering to specific guidelines regarding placements. The crematorium also allows cards for special occasions, which are collected during routine maintenance.
