Chilterns Crematorium
Chilterns Crematorium offers families a choice between two chapels, each available for booking in 45-minute intervals, accommodating funeral services on weekdays and Saturday mornings. The Milton Chapel, erected in 2005, offers a spacious, single-level setting with seating for 150 attendees and additional standing space. The Hampden Chapel, refurbished in 2023, provides seating for 100, with adaptable arrangements for disabled visitors.
The crematorium offers a range of service options, including self-arranged cremations, and welcomes all religious and non-religious beliefs. High-quality audio-visual equipment, managed by media provider Obitus, facilitates personalised music, webcasting, and visual tributes. A dedicated classical organ is available at the Milton Chapel.
The cremation procedure adheres to the Guiding Principles of Cremation, ensuring meticulous care in maintaining the identity of the deceased throughout the process. Families can choose whether the curtains remain open or closed at the end of the service, with an option for up to six relatives to witness the coffin being committed into the cremator.
Cremation ashes are scattered in dedicated areas of the Garden of Remembrance, with options for witnessed scattering and instructions recorded on the application forms. Ashes can be collected by the applicant, a nominated person, or the funeral director, and temporary retention at the crematorium is possible for up to three months. The crematorium provides space for floral tributes, with options for display and removal by staff.

The Chilterns Crematorium is conveniently located just outside Amersham on the main A404 Amersham/High Wycombe Road. Look for the white gates at the entrance, clearly signposted, and follow the long driveway leading to car parking adjacent to the main buildings.
SAT NAV Instructions:
- If arriving from the High Wycombe direction, use HP7 0ND. We are on the left on the A404 just before reaching Amersham.
- If arriving from the Aylesbury/Amersham direction, also use HP7 0ND. Follow the A404 to High Wycombe, and signs for the crematorium will guide you.
By Rail:
The nearest railway station is Amersham (Underground-Metropolitan Line), approximately 2 miles from the Crematorium. A taxi rank is available outside the station for convenience.
By Bus:
Bus stops are located outside the Crematorium entrance for the Carousel Buses (Route 1).
