163 Balaam St
Golders Green Crematorium was the first crematorium opened in London and one of the oldest in Britain. Located off Finchley Road, just ten minutes walk from the Golders Green Underground station, this secular crematorium features a beautiful 12-acre Grade I garden and several remarkable monuments.
Aside from the tranquil gardens, there are two ponds, a bridge, and an expansive crocus lawn. A special children’s section features a swinging bridge. The popular West Chapel seats 150 people, while more intimate services for 40 mourners or less can be held in the East Chapel. There are two main cremation chapels as well as a Chapel of Memory on the grounds. At Christmas, a large Christmas tree is erected in the field in front of the main buildings and a nativity scene is placed near the Chapel of Memory.
